Poetry--especially Rod McKuen (hey, remember him?), Emily Dickinson, T.S. Eliot, small doses of Ezra Pound, and larger doses William Wordsworth and, Milton? He goes good with paradise resorts and might high mountains. I also like Vincent Van Gogh, Renoir, and Margritte among others. Favorite movies? WALL-E, The Wizard of Oz, Oliver!, and Milk--though I haven't seen it yet. I like some of the "new age" writers a little, but they tend to get a bit too sweet. Ken Wilber is okay though--and though I would really like to teach him how to write : ) and I also want to correct him about some of his ideas about "higher consciousness" which really isn't all that anyway : )

Musicals, Katherine Hepburn, Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet, Kate Blanchett, psychological dramas, The Three Faces of Eve, Sibyll, Cabaret, Tennessee Williamss, Eugene O'Neill, Flannery O'Connor, Joyce Carol Oates, and so on and so forth. Toni Morrison? We need one Toni Morrison--I mean we really NEED one Toni Morrison and if we want more, tough luck--there is only ONE Toni Morrison.

Boston Legal and I'm very mad at ABC for taking off the air. It was the only truly intelligent attempt at sexism with a damn good sense of humor and slapping across the face approach to politics, religion, and other junk. Other than BL, I still love All in the Family because I can't help it. It's my Wizard of Oz reduced to a house at 704 Houser street and a bar called Kelsey's and a college student called "Meathead." Reruns of the Dick Van Dyke Show work for me--sometimes--but I get a little sick of it. I never get sick of Boston Legal or All in the Family or the Wizard of Oz. I'm sick of It's a Wonderful Life. Anyway, we need more really good comedy shows on tv--but, I guess those days are over : (
